Come and plant some native trees, shrubs and flowers. Learn about the importance of biodiversity for the environment as well as the vegetable garden.
Bring your friends, family or even a stanger because there are over 300 plants that need to get planted before the end of the day.
There may be a BBQ running to fuel all you hungry workers.

CSU Bike Repair Workshop (Friday 14th September 2012)
Come along and learn how to repair and maintain a bicycle. A number of bicycles have been donated by the local Albury/Wodonga community for participants to take home once the bike has been repaired.
The event hopes to increase the number of people who live within 5kms of their work or school to cycle instead of driving. This will help to reduce the effects of gloabl warming and is a step towards a more sustainable future.

YOUth Decide - The Energy Election. (10-17 Sept 2012)
Youth Decide: The Energy Election is a national youth vote on renewable energy. In the next few months, the Federal Government will make a decision about how much of Australia’s future electricity will come from coal, gas, wind or sun. For one week in September, young people across Australia will come together in a national youth referendum. This is our opportunity to have our say on this critical issue.
From the 10-14th of September, the Gums Cafe at CSU university will be hosting a voting event. Computers will be settup up and available for you to cast your vote. Information on Australia's current energy situation will also be available. This is an opportunity for young people around Australia to be heard - Get involved.

Winter 2012: Harvest and donation
By the initiative of Romany Vonarx and Nathaniel Oliver, students from CSU, a donation of vegetables was made to River Foodshare.The donation sought to share the excess amount of vegetables that had been grown in the garden. The donation was received by Catherine Bryne and distributed to the community.
9 Aug 2012: Hume Murray Community Garden Collective Morning Tea
The Kerr Sustainability Centre was host to a range of community members during the Hume Murray Community Gardens Morning Tea.The event included a tour of the gardens and provided a great opportunity for community members to network with other involved with sustainability projects from around the community.
July 2012: Trees for trees - Pruning Workshop
Many of the fruit trees at the Kerr Sustainability Centre had, until recently, been neglected and were in need of serious attention. Steve Onley, CSU student and professional arborist facilitated a ‘Pruning workshop’ which was attended by a number of CSU Students.
Ongoing work is needed to tame some of the trees at the Kerr Sustainability Centre and the workshop helped to provide people with the knowledge as to how to tackle the task.

May 2012: Fire performance workshop
An impromptu ‘fire performance workshop’ was facilitated by Charlie Rothnie-Jones and Heather Chapman during a campfire night at the Kerr Sustainability Centre. Willing participants were introduced to fire performance toys such as poi and staff.
March 2012: Working bee & Fundraiser
The Kerr Sustainability Centre’s first ever fundraiser was a great success. The event was attended by approximately 30 people, made up from university students and community members. Some even came from as far as Bendigo, Melbourne and Canberra to enjoy a day of music, gardening and face painting.
The enthusiasm of the participants gardening was matched by the musicians who played a wide variety of music including jazz, vocals, piano, beat-box, and electronic. With help
from the community, the garden was successfully prepared for a winter crop.
